CREATING WIRE-WRAPPED JEWELRY - Intro Level
In this hands-on class students will learn to design and create jewelry (earrings & pendants) using wire-wrapping techniques: twisting, bending, curling, spiraling, hammering and creating a wire cage to hold a cabochon – all without soldering! Learn properties of sterling silver, argentium, gold-filled, copper and artisan wires, including shape, temper and gauge, and the proper tools used in wire wrapping. Explore the use and characteristics of beads and cabochons when designing custom jewelry.
Limited to 10.
There is a $40 materials fee that will be collected the first class – this covers individual kits used for the jewelry projects.
Please also bring the following items to class:
- wire cutter, flat-nose pliers, round-nose pliers, 12” ruler, permanent marker, blue painter’s low-tack tape, blunt kitchen knife, scissors & emery board.
