BEGINNING MANDARIN CHINESE CLASS "NEW"
This course is designed for beginning students to develop a foundation in the Chinese language, understand Pinyin, recognize basic Chinese word structure patterns and apply effective techniques to master Chinese character writing, including stroke order and structure. A language unit on fruits and drinks will also be covered, including basic vocabulary related to fruits and drinks in Chinese, everyday conversations about fruits and drinks, and real-life scenarios ordering drinks in a cafe or tea shop with confidence. This class will also explore the cultural aspects of fruits and gain an understanding of the cultural meanings and symbolism of certain fruits in Chinese culture. The instructor was born in China and is a native Mandarin Chinese speaker. She is a certified Chinese teacher with an NYS teaching certification, and has been teaching Chinese at Shenendehowa High School for the past 7 years. A $20 Materials Fee will be paid directly to the instructor and collected on the first night of class. Ages 16 Limited to 15.
