INTRODUCTION TO ROCK GUITAR "NEW"
Are you looking to get all those rock and metal guitar sounds, but don't know the techniques? If so, this course is for you! Learn how to create rock and metal guitar rhythm using different types of power chords and two string intervals. Learn palm muting techniques, alternate picking, along with legato techniques. Students will learn to play riffs from iconic rock songs from Aerosmith, Metallica, Ozzy Osbourne and others. A $25 Materials Fee will be collected directly by the instructor on the first night of class, for the Beginning Rock Guitar DVD. Please bring tablature paper to class. Ages 14 and up. Limited to 12.
Prerequisite: One year of guitar playing experience is required.
Participants who own an electric guitar may bring it to class, along with an acoustic guitar, but it is not a class requirement.
Guitar instructor, Jim Mattrazzo, has performed and taught guitar for over 40 years. Jim has played in several rock bands and as a soloist performing both smooth jazz guitar and classical guitar, at special events.
